“Every true wife makes her husband’s interests her own. While he lives for her, carrying her image in his heart and toiling for her all the days, she thinks only of what will do him good. When burdens press upon him she tries to lighten them by sympathy, by cheer, by the inspiration of love. She enters with zest and enthusiasm into all his plans. She is never a weight to drag him down, she is his strength in his heart to help him ever to do nobler and better things.”

“She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.”
My life road has taken a lot of turns that I didn’t expect when I was younger. I pretty much had things planned out in my mind. Did you? I knew exactly what my “happily ever after” would look like. Well, hmmm, I don’t have my happily ever after; but, I do still have my Prince Charming.
I sometimes look around me and wonder why us? Why has our marriage “made it” when so many have failed? Is it because early in our marriage we swore never to mention the “D” word, no matter how angry we were? Do we have higher than average loyalty? Is it because we are both commited for life no matter what? Is it because we’re Christians? Is it simply because we need each other so much that we cannot imagine living without each other? Is it because God has blessed us beyond our imaginations?
Maybe it’s all, some, or none of the above. I don’t know. I do know this. We will be there for each other and love each other ’til death do us part. There’s no question in my mind about that nor in my Honey’s. We are completely commited to each other. We will stay together. Happily ever after doesn’t hold a candle to “For richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, ’til death do us part.”
I am truly blessed among women in my own generation. When you look for me, you’ll find me standing by my man.
