Baby It’s Cold Outside!

BRRRRRR!

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE!

It was only -2 this morning when hubby looked at the thermometer out on the porch.  I was soooo thankful that I didn’t have to go out and brush snow off the car and go to work.  Thanks to God and my husband, my work is at home with my family.  I love knowing where my children are, what they’re doing, who they’re with and what they’re learning.  That is a great privilege that I often take for granted.  So, this morning, even though school was cancelled all around the area for the second day, the children gathered at the kitchen table, my desk and the sofa for a morning of math and language arts lessons followed by reading, playing, and chores.

The middle kiddles, Michael 10, and Emily 12, have been taking care of our chickens, making sure they have food and water and checking to see that our little flock hasn’t turned to frozen chicken.  We’ve prayed over the chickens; because, we know that God cares about every detail of our lives, even our chickens.

Keep warm and enjoy a cup of something hot!

Laura

  1. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr – I don’t know why we have to be in the deep freeze! It was -16 at my house this morning, I went back to bed to stay warm. I wish I would have home schooled my children, I’m so envious – in a good way! Your son, what a jokester! Typical son, hehe! Loved your menu ideas. Stay warm.

  4. hmm seems that my being “cruel” is what made my son to graduate high school at 16 1/2! I know you are not cruel but have the best intrest of your precious children. I truly admire you for keeping them going when everyone else is slacking. You are a very wonderful mother, and teacher.

    blessings, hugs and love,
