You are so right and contentment is something we learn as we walk in His grace. Paul talked about being content in all circumstances, I read that as a teen. I have really worked and prayed to walk in His grace to be content.

I love getting comments! The picture in my header is of a pumpkin made of grapevine, with orange twinkle lights inside, with some fall pick flowers on top – very easy – only about 10.00, and it will last many years – I’m pretty frugal. I really enjoyed your post today – my husband and I have been in your shoes more than once. He has worked construction for 36 years and it seemed like we were unemployed a lot. I can remember once we went without steady work for almost two years, with three children to take care of. Dave Ramsey’s book is wonderful, I have known people who have gotten completely out of debt and paid off their home just by following his plan. Faith and prayer got us a long way – keep up your positive attitude, it sounds like you are certainly on the right track – God bless you.

Laura, that sounds wonderful! I love everything “Gooseberry Patch,” although I “loaned” mine to somebody and never saw them again. The cooking together and seeing friends and family time are the best parts of Christmas, and we all need that reminder.

Praising the Lord with you for His abundant provision! My husband has been out of work since May, and but for the grace of God we’d be hungry and homeless. Through the sacrifical gifts of the saints, learning the art of being content, and good old-fashioned ingenuity we’ve made it thus far. I loved your post about Christmas and husband bashing – nothing make me more sad than to hear someone speaking bad about the person that they supposedly have devoted their life to.
