Hello Friends,
I’ve noticed lately that a couple of my friends are using the phrase, “I’m a user not a collector.” Many of us who like to scrapbook, whether it be Creative Memories or an eclectic style, like to collect supplies. There’s always a new set of paper that would be just right, a cute sheet [...]

I had great fun going garage “saling” last Friday and Saturday. It was our City Wide Garage Sale. I found a wonderful dark red sign, lettered in white, that I really liked on Friday night. It said, “Always Kiss Me Goodnight” .
Buying that sign, in the country primitive style I love, and buying a second [...]

Yes, it’s true. I started my Christmas shopping this morning. I found a wonderful yard sale with my dear girlfriend, Miss Sherry. I found some nice Christmas decorations, some of which I’ll use, and some of which will be gifts. I also found a few things that I’ll use before Christmas. Now I just need [...]

Yes Friends, you read that right. It’s April, and it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. Think back a few months to the weeks and days leading up to last Christmas…. Were you stressed, worried about getting it all done, finding that you don’t have time to relax and enjoy the month of Advent, of [...]

Jars….I’ve been on again off again about collecting jars to use over the years. I’ve got about a zillion quart mason jars in my garage that I’ve moved from house to house. I’m waiting to have a place to garden. Perhaps next year. It appears we will be moving during this growing season.
I read a [...]

I’ll be speaking in our homeschool support group in a couple of weeks about Proverbs 31:20-22. I thought as part of my preparation that I would read the verses in a few different translations and versions. This is how The Message interprets these verses. I thought it was interesting; so, I thought I’d just share [...]

Awhile back I wrote that you can survive if you have a few basic ingredients in your house. I thought I’d share our family’s favorite biscuit recipe. We literally survived on these during a couple of hard times in our life. I have since started converting recipes to whole wheat; but, I want you to know [...]

Q. What kinds of big frugal meals do you make to feed all those hungry kids?
A. Right now, I’m cooking lots of soups. Soup is great because you don’t need a lot of meat. I’m also cooking a lot of beans. I’m working on my list of frugal foods. Know this though, from my extremely [...]

Hi Friends,
I was using a glue stick today while recycling some cards into new and improved cards. My thrifty tip is an idea that worked great for me. I had a magazine that I didn’t want anymore. Rather than use sheet after sheet of paper to do my gluing on, I did my gluing on [...]

What is in your hand?
If you have only $50 to go grocery shopping for the week, how can you do it? It seems impossible. Well, I did that this morning. When you have that much money, the key is using it for what I call completer items.
For instance, I already had some fruits and vegetables [...]
