Let’s Hope not Fear

Town Hall for Hope with Dave Ramsey was so encouraging. Things aren’t nearly so bad as they seem.

Hope makes all the difference.

I like the definition of fear Dave gives:

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

I’m in Awe!

I am in awe of a Love that would choose to suffer so much for another. I am in awe of a Love that would not answer back to lies and false accusations. I am in awe of a Love that is so strong, it would not cry out for mercy when brutally struck and beaten over and over. I am in awe of a Love that would be silent when He could have stopped the torture at any moment. I am in awe of a Love that would love and ask God’s forgiveness for His torturers, mockers, persecutors, and executioners because “they know not what they do.”

I am in awe because He is awesome. I am in awe because Jesus is God’s Son and He is Love.

I thank You God. I thank You Jesus. There is no way to express the gratitude I feel because I am in awe that You did this for me and for every person who will accept Your death and resurrection as payment for their sins.

I believe! Thank You for doing this so that we might have eternal life.

Amen

Just Something to Think About….

Another Busy Day Before Easter Resurrection Day….

On My Man’s agenda:

Buy or obtain:

baby chicken feed,

build a birdhouse with the kids at Lowe’s,

boxes,

shoes for just about everyone except the dog and the chicks,

straw bales for the garden,

clothes for him,

pillows,

and groceries.

I’m adding to the list:

yard sales,

coloring eggs with the kids,

resurrection cookies (just didn’t get to it because I was feeling ill),

an old Easter movie with Fred Astaire and Judy Garland.  I think it’s Easter Bonnet or something like that.  We watched it Sunday.  It was Easter Parade.

and maybe a stop for a soda or cappucino!

Have a great Preparation for Resurrection Day!

April Cover Up

Hi,
My husband wrote yesterday about The April Cover Up. When I thought about the title, the first thing I thought about was swim suit weather! I think I’d like to remain covered up! How about you?

Just a funny thought.

Quick and Cheap Lunch

Hi,
We just had a quick and cheap lunch. I love the words thrifty, cheap, frugal, penny pincher, etc.

Stir Fried Cabbage

1 small cabbage, shredded
2 T butter

Melt butter in large skillet or wok. Add cabbage and stir until it reaches the level of “doneness” that you desire. I like mine a little crispy when we eat it.

Serves 4-5 as a main dish for lunch. We add Bragg’s Liquid Aminos for flavor. It tastes like soy sauce; but, it’s better for you. You can find it at a health food store.

My daughter made my biscuit recipe to round out the meal. Who needs meat?

In Defiance of Cold Weather!

Tulips celebrate the new life in Spring. These were a gift from Jeremy, my son Matthew's friend.

Contrary to what the weather man keeps telling us, we will have Spring!  Blessings to you wherever you are and however warm or cold you are.

The Sound of Music

My All Time Favorite Movie

My All Time Favorite Movie

As I was casting about for a subject upon which to write tonight, I asked my son, Matthew, to give me a subject to write on.  He immediately suggested movies.  Hmm… 18 year old… movies… should I be surprised?  I think not.

Well, at once I thought of my all time favorite movie.  The Sound of Music with Julie Andrews.  I adore the movie.  I adore the music.  I’ve watched the movie so many times, I can just listen to the soundtrack and watch the movie play in my head.  The only part I do not like is the marionette scene.  Goats, goatherds, beer afloat heards….I’ll pass.  Edelweiss, oh so romantic!

It’s a perfect curl up and relax movie.  Even my kids love it.  We love to sing the Do Re Mi and The Hills are Alive and all the wonderful songs.  It’s really brought joy to share the music together.

Amazingly, even with all the benefits it has brought our family, I still do not own the movie or the soundtrack.  We rent or borrow them.  Maybe I need to do that again soon.  Well, that’s all I can come up with for the subject movies tonight.

Blessings,

Laura
