Seed Time and Harvest at Harvest Lane Cottage

April 29, 2008

I hope you all are having lovely weather to begin your Spring planting. Our life is a bit up in the air this year. It appears that we will be moving this summer before we can harvest a garden; so, we’re going to plant a few tomatoes in pots. We also plan to help dear [...]

Something to Think About…Doing it Right….

April 29, 2008

“What we forget is that following God makes us different- from unbelievers, but also from one another.  God has created each of us uniquely and for a specific purpose; and in that purpose we can dare to accomplish what he asks of us.”
-Judith Couchman Daring to Be Different
As a young mother, and as a homeschooler, I’ve [...]

Celebrating and Enjoying Today

April 28, 2008

What’s life without celebration?  We celebrate Christmas, New Year’s Day, Easter, Independence Day, weddings, births, so many things.  All these times are special, set apart, times for celebrating.  What if we were to celebrate ordinary days, ordinary things that make our lives richer?
I’m just beginning to realize how much my children would love more celebration.  [...]

Something to Think About….What is Education?

April 25, 2008

“Whatever an education is, it should make you a unique individual, not a conformist; it should furnish you with an original spirit with which to tackle the big challenges; it should allow you to find values which will be your roadmap through life; it should make you spiritually rich, a person who loves whatever you [...]

Celebrating Passover

April 21, 2008

What an incredible experience we had today!
We were privileged to celebrate a Passover Seder with our church family, some guests, and a family of Messianic Jews, who lead the ceremony.
Definitions according to Laura:
Passover-celebration commemorating the deliverance of the Jews from Egyptian bondage and protection from the death angel.
Seder-means order.  It’s the dinner and readings and prayers [...]

Something to Think About…Verses About Contentment

April 19, 2008

A few scriptures from the Holy Bible for those of us who are seeking contentment:
“All the days of the afflicted are evil; but he (she) that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.”  Proverbs 15:15
“…for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”  Philippians 4:11
“…and be content with such [...]
